On the death certificate you will find the following information:-
Registration district, sub-district and county
Full name of the deceased
Date and place of death
Sex
Maiden name if previously married
Place and date of birth
Full name of the informant
Relationship of informant to deceased
Address of informant
Cause of death
Name of coroner where applicable
Date of registration
Name of registrar
Date the certificate was produced

Q. Are all overseas events involving British nationals held in the UK?

A. No. Registering with the British authorities is not compulsory. It is not a service which everyone takes up.

A. Births, marriages and deaths registered by the British Forces and the British Consul or High Commission in the country where they took place, from 1849.
